Back in 2012, Susan Toft was running a household in Australia, juggling everything else on the list while laundry kept sliding to the bottom of it. So she started picking up laundry for a few neighbors, washing it herself, and dropping it back off folded. That’s the whole origin of this company. A washing machine, a busy mum, and a spare room.
It grew past Queensland. Then past Australia, into New Zealand. The company ended up pitching on Shark Tank, which is the kind of thing that gets your inbox flooded with people asking how to start their own route. Turns out a lot of people wanted the same thing Susan wanted: someone else to deal with the laundry, or a way to make money helping them do it.
Last year we started signing up Laundry Partners across Canada, in British Columbia and Ontario. Now the Alberta side of that is live.

We’re not everywhere in Alberta yet. Coverage depends on how many Laundry Partners we’ve signed up in a given area, so if your neighborhood isn’t listed, that usually means we’re still recruiting there. How It Works
You book a pickup online. A Laundry Partner near you comes to your door, takes your laundry, washes and dries it, folds it, and brings it back, usually the next day. Bedding, towels, everyday clothes, work uniforms, whatever you’ve got. If you run a business: a salon, an Airbnb, a gym, the same setup applies to your linens and towels, just on a schedule that matches your volume.
There’s no drop-off, no standing around a laundromat waiting for a dryer, no guessing whether you’ll get your load done before the kids need picking up.
What This Actually Saves You
Doing your own laundry properly, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and putting it all away, eats up a couple of hours a week for most households, and that’s before you count the trip to a laundromat if your building doesn’t have machines, or the time spent waiting on a cycle to finish so you can start the next one. None of that is a good use of a Saturday.
Handing that off doesn’t mean lowering your standards. It means someone else is doing the sorting and folding while you’re doing something you’d rather be doing: work, kids, sleep, whatever’s actually on your list that day.
This tends to land hardest with a few groups: parents managing school schedules and everything that comes with them, shift workers whose hours don’t line up with laundromat hours, seniors who’d rather not carry heavy baskets, and anyone running a business where clean linens are part of the job, not a side project.

The other half of this business is the people doing the washing, and we’re actively recruiting in Alberta. As our founder Susan Toft put it when we started the Canadian rollout, “we’re seeing tremendous interest from Canadian families seeking flexible income opportunities.”
Being a Laundry Partner means running your own route out of your own home. You set your hours. We handle the bookings, the app, and the payments, you handle the washing and the driving. There’s no franchise fee and no storefront to rent. Some Partners are running this as a full-time business; others are doing it around another job or around their kids’ schedules. Both work.
